BUZZ Live! stars Hope to Walk’s mission to Ukraine 900 506 Michael Hemphill

BUZZ Live! stars Hope to Walk’s mission to Ukraine

BUZZ Live! is back April 3, 2025, to help Hope to Walk – a Blacksburg, Va. nonprofit seeking to raise $15,000 to provide prosthetics to some of the estimated 100,000 soldiers and civilians, women and children, who are now amputees because of the war.

Open to all, our free show will be in person at Church on Main, 550 N. Main St., Blacksburg, Va., and live-streamed to this Facebook channel. Register below to attend.

Working with Ukraine Focus, a major U.S. nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., that addresses medical needs in Ukraine, Hope to Walk founder Phil Johnson and assistant Max Faublas are scheduled to travel to Ukraine the last two weeks in May. They will be in Kyiv with Ukraine Focus staff to consult on the best way to meet the need. They also plan to outfit 20 amputees with Hope to Walk legs.

Our BUZZ Live! show will feature the inspiring people who serve Hope to Walk, and share some incredible video testimonials of those who can now walk thanks to the nonprofit.

The hour-long show will also be live-streamed to our Facebook and YouTube channels and later broadcast on Blue Ridge PBS. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Trip expenses, along with the cost of 20 prosthetic legs, are estimated to be $15,000. Your compassion can help a Ukrainian amputee toward a brighter future. This LINK will take you to the HTW donation page, with instructions for online and mail-in donations. Your donation will support providing prosthetic legs for Ukrainians and other critical needs. If we raise more than needed for this initiative, your gift will help where it’s most needed.

About the episode:

Attracting an eclectic cast of artists from around the world — and helping launch the likes of Morgan Wade — The Spot on Kirk in downtown Roanoke, Virginia, is both listening room and community center for all music lovers.
The nonprofit is also a passion project for founder and board president Bruce C. Bryan, whose marketing agency 5Points Creative has provided the “buzz” for nine of our episodes to date. For its 10th BUZZ milestone, 5Points Creative and Bruce are making sure more people know about The Spot. BUZZ videographer Dan Mirolli — a talented musician in his own right — lends a hand in this episode by creating a promotional video that better highlights this remarkable venue.
